The first full-scale retrospective of the work of world-renowned science fiction and fantasy artist, Frank Kelly Freas. Mr. Freas was the first person to receive ten Hugo awards (out of twenty nominations), as well as many other national and international awards for his art work. He was a cover artist for MAD magazine and an official NASA artist, designing the shoulder patch for the Skylab 1 mission. In 1999 he received the L. Ron Hubbard Lifetime Achievement Award and in 2000, the International Association of Astronomical Artists granted him the honor of Fellowship. The book is illustrated throughout with amazing color reproductions of his art work, including portraits of legendary science fiction writers, Robert A. Heinlein and L. Sprague de Camp, and actor Vincent Price.
